F1 Fantasy: 2026 Season Preview
It’s lights out and away we go with the inaugural season of the F1 Baddy League.
A warm welcome to all our competitors and let’s start with some introductions.
Clark’s Clark’s Team
Clark’s coming in strong being the first person to join the league. That means he’s had the most time to carefully craft his team to perfection.
You know he’s taking it seriously when he isn’t picking his favourite driver Lance Stroll. However, Aston Martin are having a lot of issues, so the decision was basically made for him. But credit where credit is due, Clark did say he had no Aston Martin assets to begin with.
I’m glad Clark went with a clear team name. We know that it’s a team, and it belongs to Clark. That most definitely will help me identify your team in future newsletters.
Josh’s Just in time for WW3
Made it just in time with a frisky team name. I’m not sure how strict Formula 1 is with team names, but FPL definitely is. Some don’t even bother changing it to a regular team name after it gets removed (👀 Jonah).

Josh seems to rate good old reliable George Russell, but at $27.4m, it’s quite a steep price to pay. May I interest you in his teammate Kimi Antonelli, who outperformed Russell in Free Practice 2?
Vinny’s Jacqui’s Favourite Pole
Vinny’s got a hidden advantage over all of us because he also has Jacqui to help him. That means we’re not only facing one, but two massive brains. If we also factor in that Drive to Survive knowledge, they’re basically experts on the sport.
Would Jacqui’s favourite pole perhaps be a hypothetical scenario? Would you rather the angel 😇 or the devil 👹?

Brendan’s B-Team is the A-Team
A big thanks to Brendan for trialling F1 Fantasy with me for the entirety of last season, where I gained enough knowledge to start this league.
Brendan and I competed with all 3 teams last year, and we are all too familiar with having our B team outperform our A team.
If you’re thinking about running a second or third team on the side, be ready for it to do better than your primary team.
Tim’s Trolley Cart Racing
As the last one to join the league, Tim should technically be at a disadvantage, but Tim might have the most F1 knowledge out of all of us (excluding the number of championships Michael Schumacher has won).
I don’t know how much merch everyone else owns, but I believe Tim has the most F1 merch just based on the fact he owns a McLaren umbrella. And if we’re following the xMerch formula, it’s good for xPoints.
Jason’s Hope and Depression
Jason might just embody his team name by believing in Red Bull’s second seat. Yeah, that seat definitely isn’t cursed, coming from me who is choosing to believe in Ferrari.
You know what they say…
Ferrari is Red
Red Bull is Blue
Charles won Free Practice 1
Mercedes 1-2
Keven’s Cope and Delusion
Thank you Jason for inspiring my team name this year. Some may say a Ferrari 1-2 in Free Practice 1 is Hope and Depression, but it’s validating my decision to double up on Leclerc and Ferrari. It’s definitely not cope and delusion, I swear, even though it’s my name.
A bit of insight into my team: I’ve made maximum use of my budget, securing three premium assets, but then I rounded it out with Lindblad, Colapinto and Bottas because I can’t afford anyone else.

Also let it be known that my actual pre-season recommendation will be tracked on the outskirts of the F1 Baddy League. I think it will be fun to track it as the benchmark team you want to beat.

Bless up,
Keven
