F1 Fantasy Race 7: The Armenian Curse

Kim Kardashian casted a curse on Antonelli during the Monaco Grand Prix.

In 1852, an 11 year old prophet warned the Molokans that a great war was coming and the kings would shed blood like rivers.

Kim's great grandparents were Molokans and left Armenia in 1913, avoiding the Armenian Genocide of 1915.

In traditional folklore, sweat is connected to a person's soul, contains their essence, and is all you need to curse someone or steal some of their good luck.

At the end of the Monaco Grand Prix, Kim slyly grabbed Antonelli's post race towel, wiped her sweat on it and walked off.

Armenian curse applied, Kim then transferred some of Antonelli's luck from winning the last 5 races to Hamilton.

Vinny’s Jacqui’s Favourite Pole (Current Race: 118 / 1st, Overall: 1230 / 5th) (Wildcard)

And that was all she wrote. Hamilton (56) proceeds to remember who he is and wins his first race for Ferrari.

Vinny also had the best constructor of the weekend with McLaren (67) because Norris and Piastri were able to finish the race, while Antonelli and Leclerc did not.

Josh’s Just in time for WW3 (Current Race: 108 / 2nd, Overall: 1445 / 2nd) (Wildcard)

Gasly delayed the outcome of this weekend's points due to a successful challenge to earn himself a Monaco Grand Prix podium.

After all these shenanigans, the F1 Fantasy Team were not willing to apply backdated adjustments to make Josh richer, but 17 points from Gasly was still a handsome return.

It seems like I was wrong to recommend Ferrari (58) over Hamilton (56) because Leclerc has crashed out of his last two races after signing a contract extension. He also crashed out of this weekend's qualifying...

Brendan’s B-Team is the A-Team (Current Race: 99/ 3rd, Overall: 1313 / 4th)

The Racing Bulls duo deliver another strong result (P8 and P9), clearly leading the mid tier assets alongside Alpine (P6 and P10).

Brendan kept it in theme with Lawson (9), Lindblad (10) and Colapinto (9) achieving mid table results alongside his F1 fantasy performance, serving as a great benchmark for the rest of us.

Clark’s Team (Current Race: 99 / 4th, Overall: 1178 / 6th)

After 5 races of Antonelli outperforming Russell, I finally convinced Clark to swap them over, only for Antonelli (-4 x 2 = -8) to DNF. My apologies for not factoring in the Armenian curse.

What Clark may have lost in the points, he gained in budget.

Antonelli (Up $0.3m)

Russell (Down $0.3m)

Hulkenberg (Down $0.2m)

Bearman (Down $0.6m)

Ferrari (Up $0.3m)

Racing Bulls (Up $0.6m)

Total (Up $0.4m)

Total (Down $0.3m)

That $0.7m extra budget for the next race will snowball into more cash by bringing in Hamilton next.

Keven’s Cope and Delusion (Current Race: 97 / 5th, Overall: 1503 / 1st)

Tim’s Trolley Cart Racing (Current Race: 80 / 6th, Overall: 1133 / Last)

Tim's had all the right drivers at some point in his team, just at the wrong time.

Hadjar has gone P4 and P6 in his last 2 races, season best scores of 19 and 22 points since being transferred out.

Gasly has gone P3 and P7 in his last 2 races, season high scores of 25 and 17 points since being transferred out.

Even when he wins he loses. Tim transferred in Lawson who got P8 and 9 points, but he transferred out Sainz who got P12 and 11 points.

Lawson got 2 fewer points for finishing 4 spots above Sainz. Don't you just love F1 Fantasy's scoring system?

Jason's Hope and Depression (Current Race: 72 / Last, Overall: 1401 / 3rd)

Just full send it on the budget, and Jason has gone ahead and done it.

Unfortunately for Hulkenberg (-15), he got pebbled.

Hulkenberg is now the first driver to reach the bargain basement price of $3.0m, an achievement he stole away from Bottas (-18), who also DNF'd, and is now at $3.3m.

Highest Race Score (Sprint Weekend): Jason’s 402 points in Race 2: China GP

Highest Race Score (Non-Sprint Weekend): Keven’s 249 points in Race 1: Australian GP

Highest Race Score (Limitless / Triple DRS): Jason's 224 points in Race 5: Canadian GP
