FPL GW 29: It’s goin’ down, I’m yellin’, “Timber”

Greetings friends,

F1 fantasy incumbents will now get an insight into the FPL newsletter, which is now up to its 29th edition.

When half the F1 fantasy league immediately blamed me for not receiving the first newsletter (they did receive it), I don’t think they realised that all the technical issues were resolved after the first few FPL newsletters.

To catch you up to date in FPL, Derek is on 1,718 points and had a commanding lead of over 100 points before it was cut down to 97 points this week. It's a bit of a one horse race but there is hope and depression that we can so come back.

Who also transferred out Timber before his hot run of points?

Timber’s points before Sandra transferred him in: 6 and 5.

Timber’s points after Sandra transferred him in: 2 and 1.

Timber’s points after Sandra rage transferred him back out: 3, 8 and 13.

An average of 1.5 points per game in Sandra’s team, and 7 points per game out of her team.

Simply depression.

Captaincy Corner

Derek once again backed in Haaland despite the injury concerns and it was a victory lap for the rest of the Baddy League when Haaland (2 x 2 = 4) blanked.

Derek went with the VC on Bruno once again, but this time I could enjoy Bruno’s (8 x 2 = 16) points to myself. The research is paying off. Newcastle conceded 11 goals in their last four home games and haven’t won a single premier league game whilst missing Bruno Guimaraes… then they won this one with just 10 men?! Got the points despite the outcome of the match.

Sandra, Brian and Dan all went with Semenyo (7 x 2 = 14) who returned a respectable score. If Brian missed the deadline again, he could have had Joao Pedro’s (19) hat trick.

Duy tried to replicate last week’s success with Ekitike (2 x 2 = 4) but it wasn’t to be. I knew Wolves would be too good of a side for Liverpool; there is a reason why they’re sitting *checks table* last on the ladder.

Goalkeeper Woes

In the last newsletter I mentioned rumours of Roefs being injured and he was indeed injured. And what do Sunderland do once he’s not playing? Keep a clean sheet of course. Bad luck Brian.

Derek is only left with one Chelsea man on his side with Sanchez and he didn’t even play, wtf? He isn’t even injured; he was just so bad against Arsenal that he got benched lol.

It’s time like this where I really appreciate the stability of Raya (7). Just ignore the fact that he scored 3, 3, 1 and 2 in the previous four games.

Derek’s Cole Fired Power (GW 48 / 5th, Total 1,718 / 1st)

Derek finally caved after seeing Ekitike’s 15 point performance last week and transferred him in this week. Duy, Sandra and myself own Ekitike. Going a bit early on defensive moves, are we?

Wilson (DNP) backs up last week’s 12 point performance with 9 points through KDH. It’s just skill, isn’t it?

Duy’s Duzor (GW 59 / 3rd, Total 1,621 / 2nd)

Apologies Duy, I was not familiar with your game. Triple Chelsea is actually a stroke of genius, with Joao Pedro (19) and Cole Palmer (9) combining for 28 points. Shouldn’t these players be in Derek’s team, not yours?

Duy continues to anti-differential Bruno (8); I wonder what he plans to do with his third Man United spot. The honeymoon period of Carrick United does seem to be dissipating, so it might not be a good time to invest more into Man United.

Keven’s The Assets (GW 70 / 2nd, Total 1,598 / 3rd)

The beautiful double up on Bournemouth defence with Senesi (11) and Hill (8) really set me up for a great week.

The budget midfielder struggles continue, both Dango (3) and Rayan (3) blanking. I never should have transferred Garner (10) out.

Sandra’s SZ (GW 58 / 4th, Total 1,583 / 4th)

A Wilson DNP into Anderson’s (12) biggest haul of the season, there may be hope.

Hill (8) and Kelleher (6) are back, and let’s ignore the rest of the team. Ignorance is bliss.

Brian’s The Liabilities (GW 83 / 1st, Total 1,567 / 5th)

What a week for Brian, returns absolutely everywhere in his team despite the goalkeeper woes (Roefs) and budget midfielder struggles (Rayan).

Gabriel (11), Timber (13), KDH (9) and Joao Pedro (19), and Brian finally escapes the bottom of the ladder.

Dan’s A-Cunha Matata (GW 48 / 5th, Total 1,540 / Last)

I’m starting to think Dan isn’t checking his team… Dan is having genuine donuts on field who don’t play a single minute. Yes, sure, you could say Saliba is an unexpected donut, but Madueke and L. Miley on the bench aren’t.

Bless up,

Keven
