FPL GW 30: I’m on the right track, baby I was Bourne this way

Derek’s Cole Fired Power (GW 59 / 3rd, Total 1,777 / 1st)

Jan Paul van Hecke (9), probably the most underrated $4.5m defender who is somehow only $4.4m. He is currently the cheapest defender in the top 15 for total points.

Sanchez (3) is back for Chelsea while Thiago (6) does just enough to be acceptable. It’s been 10 gameweeks since that glorious hat trick and brace in back to back weeks.

Targeting Spurs was the plan, but Slot had other ideas. Ekitike (1) [and Salah (1)] started on the bench and disappointment ensued. Spurs are facing another relegation contender in Nottingham Forest this week. All eyes on Anderson.

Keven’s The Assets (GW 75 / 1st, Total 1,673 / 2nd)

The double Arsenal and Bournemouth defence have been beautiful in the last two weeks ‘cause they make no mistakes. From my core of Raya, Gabriel, Senesi and Hill, they scored 37 points last week and 34 points this week.

My sneaky differential in Dango (8) was finally rewarded while my other sneaky differential in Rayan (3) is permanently on the bench. I’m looking forward to benching Rayan again even through a blank gameweek.

Duy’s Duzor (GW 24 / Last, Total 1,645 / 3rd)

An unlucky week for Duy.

Not owning Bruno (10) hurts, but at least Man United are third on the ladder.

Two Arsenal defenders for zero clean sheets; Timber (1) got injured and Hincapie (4) started on the bench. Despite that, Hincapie (4) still became Duy’s top scorer of the week with just 16 minutes of game time and one assist.

Anderson (2) is back in Duy’s team and on his bench. A comforting presence I’m used to seeing is always a welcome sight, and I appreciate that decision.

Sandra’s SZ (GW 49 / 4th, Total 1,632 / 4th)

It’s always great when you captain the highest scoring player on your team, especially when they score a 10 pointer like Bruno (10 x 2 =20).

My regular mentions of Hill (8) have been pretty good; probably the most value for money defender right now at $4.1m.

Dubravka (6) lead the way on the bench like he did for Sandra’s bench boost earlier this season, this time resulting in a total bench score of 23 points. Impressive, but it will take a lot more to beat Duy’s 43 point bench earlier this season.

Brian’s The Liabilities (GW 43 / 5th, Total 1,610 / 5th)

A double up on Bournemouth offense with Rayan (3) and Kroupi. Jr (2) has not been a fun journey these past few weeks. Not ideal when Bournemouth can’t even put a goal past Burnley. But good when Dubravka (6) is Brian’s number one goalie now!

Another week of captain Semenyo (2 x 2 = 4), this time falling short. We’re winding back the clock when it feels like the optimal move is to captain Bruno every week.

Brian might be on the wrong side of the Tyne-Wear derby, with Sunderland players recognising Brian’s Newcastle allegiance, both Roefs and Mukiele deciding that nah, we won’t play for Brian’s FPL team.

Dan’s A-Cunha Matata (GW 63 / 2nd, Total 1,603 / Last)

Dan is so back. One big transfer from Madueke (3) to KDH (2) was all he needed for a monster gameweek from Saliba (11), Senesi (10) and Andersen (7).

Kroupi. Jr (2) seemed like such a great budget selection a month ago, but consecutive scores of 2, 1, 2, 2, 1 and 2 shows why he is a $4.7m forward compared to a someone like Bowen, a reliable $7.5m forward who has gone 5, 4, 7, 4 and 6.

It’s the first time in three weeks that Esteve (6) doesn’t come off the bench for Dan, so of course it’s perfectly timed with a clean sheet.

Bless up,

Keven
