FPL GW 31: Duy sinks into a Black Hole while Sandra crafts some fine Silk Cloth
Derek’s Cole Fired Power (GW 66 / 2nd, Total 1,843 / 1st)
A triple transfer to get a full squad, no free hit required, no hits taken, Derek had it all planned out.
Gordon (10) was the highlight of his transfers, the others, not so much.
Fulham conceded against Burnley for a Robinson 1 pointer which paled in comparison to the Andersen loyalists who got 4 points.
It is tradition for such smart and logical transfers that mathematically maximised clean sheet odds to be outdone by Everton keeping a clean sheet against Chelsea 3-0.
Liverpool joins Chelsea in depressingly falling further behind from top 4 after losing to Brighton 2-1, Van Hecke being Derek’s most reliable defender with a solid return of 4 points.

Derek got yee-hawed by Malick Thiaw who started on the bench, and Newcastle went on to concede 2 goals just for Thiaw to end up with 0 points.
Maybe it’s time to go back to targeting Spurs who are one step closer to relegation after losing to Forest (and Forest kept a clean sheet).

Keven’s The Assets (GW 53 / 3rd, Total 1,726 / 2nd)
What a journey that was, for captain Bruno (26) to get an assist through a Senesi (1) header into a Hill (-1) own goal.
I benched Rayan (2) again to field my new recruits, Wilson (9), good, and Joao Pedro (2), not so good.
A Rodon (6) clean sheet was a surprise, but a welcome one.
Sandra’s SZ (GW 68 / 1st, Total 1,700 / 3rd)
Sandra returns to the top 3 and the main decision that led to this outcome was consistently captaining Bruno (26) over the past couple of weeks. Bruno has been on an absolute tear returning 13, 10, 8 and 13 in the past 4 weeks, which is a byproduct of being Man United’s talisman. He’s on penalties, corners, free kicks and so much of Man United’s attack goes through him.
Anderson (5) continues his honest work and is now the 6th highest scoring mid in the game with 138 points. That’s above the likes of Saka, Palmer and Salah. When it comes to fantasy, availability is the best ability. Even Ampadu (102) is above Salah (97), and if you’re wondering who Ampadu is, so am I… so am I.
Sandra also name dropped the possibility of transferring in the West Ham defender Mavropanos after he scored a 12 pointer last week. He only scored 3 points this week, so Sandra was rewarded for holding her knees steady. She really is cooking something spicy in the kitchen to try make an almost impossible comeback.
Kelleher (9) was the highest scoring goalie of the week, and you know what, it’s been going quite well for Sandra these past few weeks. When she’s considering players like Mavropanos, she must be deep in the FPL research.

Duy’s Duzor (GW 43 / 5th, Total 1,688 / 4th) (Free Hit)
Differential Duy activated his free hit and succumbed to owning Bruno (13), if only for a week. Still had to captain Joao Pedro (2 x 2 = 4) to maintain his differential status, and much respect to the decision.
Doubled up on Liverpool defence in Frimpong (0) and Virgil (3) only to find out that Liverpool suck. Such an honourable gentleman to console Derek by also fielding a 0 point defender. Duy even kept Shaw (3) on his free hit to sit pretty on the bench.
Glad to see Duy stuck with Anderson (5) on his free hit, who I consider to be Duy’s team mascot at this point, although Duy appears to be making a case for Shaw.
Dan’s A-Cunha Matata (GW 49 / 4th, Total 1,652 / 5th)
Dan made some big moves this week, transferring in Virgil (3), Wirtz (2), Woltemade (5) and Raul (5).
He immediately captained Raul (5 x 2 =10) and was blessed with a goal as Raul was only on the pitch for 8 minutes. Woltemade (5) is also known for being a minutes risk, and it’s honestly impressive he returned after blanking every match for the last 8 weeks.

Brian’s The Liabilities (GW 36 / Last, Total 1,646 / Last)
Brian had captain Haaland into vice-captain Semenyo with Man City not playing this week. Oops.
Down to 8 men, Brian still fought on with Bruno (13), who was owned by 100% of the Baddy League, Kroupi. Jr (5), who returned for the first time in 7 gameweeks, and Rogers (6), who returned for the first time in 6 gameweeks.
It’s quite impressive that Rogers is the 6th highest scoring midfielder with Anderson at 138 points. It really goes to show the power of playing 60+ minutes week in week out. The main challenge is to transfer in players right before their hot streak of returns, and Rogers is about to face Forest, Sunderland, Fulham, Spurs and Burnley in his next five matches. Could it be time to invest?
Bless up,
Keven
