FPL GW 5: Sanchez Takes Panadol, Then Sees Red
FPL Classic
Duy’s Duzor (GW 34 / 5th, Total 293 / 1st)
Duy’s defence must be Optus customers because they suffered a network outage this week, his four defenders combining for 000 points.
- Sanchez (-3) got sent off.
- He chose the wrong Man United defender, starting Yoro (1, benched) instead of Dorgu (5).
- Spence (1) played just one minute, blocking Livramento (6) from coming off the bench.
Derek’s Cole Fired Power (GW 26 / Last, Total 279 / 2nd)
Derek’s team looked like it was on paracetamol this week, with Sanchez (-3) doing maximum damage to captain Joao Pedro (4) and Cucurella (0).
From one benched Spurs player to another, his transfer from Johnson (1) to Xavi (1) felt like a false start, much like Tebogo in the 100m at the World Athletics Championships.
Brian’s The Liabilities (GW 40 / 4th, Total 252 / 5th)
Sanchez (-3) lived up to Brian’s team name this week.
He also went from one Newcastle defender to another, swapping Hall (7) for Livramento (6). After holding Hall for the first four weeks for just 2 points across 43 minutes, he finally plays 90 minutes and delivers 7 points the week he’s shipped out.
Sandra’s SZ (GW 47 / 3rd, Total 244 / Last)
Sandra’s team is in the fast lane post-wildcard, clearing out all the slow movers from her GW 1 lineup like Rogers (2), Watkins (2), Wirtz (0), Murillo (DNP) and Sels (3).
It may not feel like the fast lane in lane/rank 6, and she may be right…
Vu’s Laser (GW 53 / 1st, Total 257 / 3rd)
In lane/rank 4, McLaughlin-Laser topped the Baddy League this week, breaking the 400m championship record at the World Athletics Championships.
Vu made the best captain pick with Haaland (18) against Arsenal, while Isidor (9) was like a YangWang U9 Xtreme smashing the land speed record of a car that can be driven on public roads at a blistering 496.22 km/h.
Keven’s The Assets (GW 53 / 2nd, Total 256 / 4th)
The Assets are back above The Liabilities, and all is right in our FPL business once again.

Five weeks in and we are still unable to beat Duy’s cracking GW 1 performance.
Top weekly score tracker: Duy’s Duzor with 86 points in GW 1.
FPL Draft

Vu’s Laser (42, 1st) def. Keven’s The Assets (35, 2nd)
What’s going on here? Vu not only defeated me this week, but he is also top scoring the draft league in total points.
He may just have better football IQ than the rest of us, having won the trivia to get the number one draft pick and selecting Haaland (9) instead of Salah (5).
Duy’s Duzor (28, Last) def. by Sandra’s SZ (31, 4th)
Credit where credit is due, Reijnders (9) came through for Sandra.
At the other end of the spectrum, Ndoye (2) and Bobb (DNP) failed to deliver for Duy.
After three weeks of H2H matches, Duy is now the only winless team.
Brian’s The Liabilities (27, 3rd) def. by Derek’s Cole Fired Palmer (43, 5th)
We are Dan Burning (9) it up for Derek this week. He also has the right Spurs midfielder in his FPL draft, Kudus (7), unlike his FPL Classic team.
Isak (1) has arrived for Brian, and it’s only onwards and upwards from here.

Keep well and stay swell~
