FPL GW 7: Arsenal are Hot, Salah is Not

FPL Classic

Brian’s The Liabilities (GW 61 / 1st, Total 337 / 6th)

On July 1st, Garmin announced new developer guidelines for all its API partners, with updated data source and branding requirements for third parties.

On October 5th, Arsenal introduced their own set of football guidelines, taking their place at the top of the table.

Brian’s Liabilities capitalised on these Arsenal Assets with Saliba (6), Eze (6) and Gyokeres (2) leading the way to the highest score in the Baddy League this week.

Vu’s Laser (GW 53 / 6th, Total 365 / 4th)

Vu is hot on the Arsenal heatmap, with Rice (11) and Gabriel (9) stepping up to salvage his week.

Derek’s Cole Fired Power (GW 59 / 2nd, Total 406 / 2nd)

Derek also secured a segment of the Arsenal pie, with his new recruit Saka (8) making an immediate impact.

Sandra’s SZ (GW 55 / 5th, Total 378 / 3rd)

Following Garmin’s new developer guidelines, Strava is now suing Garmin over the heatmaps and segments feature.

Arsenal have just overtaken Strava/Salah (2) on the ladder, and they are not happy. It’s the first time Arsenal will become English Champions directly ahead of Salah’s Liverpool since he joined in 2017, and Strava/Salah is immediately taking legal action.

Keven’s The Assets (GW 41 / 7th, Total 362 / 5th)

In November 2024, Strava implemented restrictions on third party apps accessing its data.

In November 2024, Salah (2) was on pace for a 370 point season. He finished with 344 points and is currently on track for 184 points this season, his first below 200 points.

Duy’s Duzor (GW 57 / 3rd, Total 413 / 1st)

Outside Strava drama, Duy’s biggest dilemma is deciding who to field between Yoro (6, 84 minutes played) and Dorgu (1, benched, 26 minutes played).

He outsmarted Man United by playing them both, but oh, what could have been.

Dan’s A-Cunha Matata (GW 34 / Last, Total 325 / Last)

Unable to outsmart Man United, Dan brought in his team mascot and captained Cunha (2), only for a disappointing 25 minute cameo.

Another week of Bruno falling just one defcon short of scoring two more points.

Martin’s Big M (GW 56 / 4th, Total 119 / Started GW 6)

Avoiding the Big M of Man United, Martin took the N of Newcastle and got a Dan Burn (11) masterclass, with a side of Pope (7).

And we’re going another week with Duy’s GW 1 score as the best of the season.

Top weekly score tracker: Duy’s Duzor with 86 points in GW 1.

FPL Draft

Derek’s Cole Fired Palmer (54, 5th) def. by Keven’s The Assets (55, 1st)

A one point thriller.

Derek’s draft Kudus (12) is the better Spurs mid over Derek’s classic and my draft Xavi (2).

You’d think Derek’s Dan Burn (11) would have clutched him the win, but my Everton duo, Ndiaye (7) and Tarkowski (5), handed Crystal Palace’s first loss of the season.

Sandra’s SZ (56, 3rd) def. Brian’s The Liabilities (55, 4th)

Another one point thriller!

Sandra made a couple of great changes to her team this week, bringing in Sarr (7) and Pope (7) who both returned.

Brian also made a couple of adjustments that arguably improved his team, but not his on field scoring. He benched Guehi (3) instead of Romero (1) and swapped out Elanga (3) for Minteh (2), both unlucky swings.

Vu’s Laser (40, 2nd) def. by Duy’s Duzor (44, Last)

Duy picks up his first win in a David v Goliath victory. Duy’s defence of Gvardiol (12), Timber (11) and Yoro (6) did the heavy lifting this week.

Vu had Alisson (DNP) and Bayindir (DNP), scoring 0 points from his goalkeeper this week. A costly mistake that dropped him into second place on both the ladder and overall points.

Keep well stay swell~
