F1 Fantasy Round 13: From 19 to 1

Antonelli is the first Italian to win his home Grand Prix since 1966, and he did it starting from 19th. Gg Russell you’ve just been bullet bill’d.

Fun fact: Antonelli’s drive was worth 93 points in F1 Fantasy, a new single race record. This made no impact as everyone in the Baddy League had Antonelli.

On the other spectrum, we have Leclerc pushing his teammate off the track to lose 5 positions then crashing on the next lap.

Jason's Hope and Depression (Current Race: 426 / 1st, Overall: 3009 / 3rd)

7 teams, 6 with Mercedes and Ferrari, and Jason was the only one to go with Mercedes and McLaren. Just a Leclerc DNF was all Jason needed to get a 53 point advantage on everyone in the Baddy League.

A few races ago Jason picked up Stroll for 15 points, this time it was Albon for 17 points. Jason has been making a lot of excellent moves to potentially overtake both Josh and me.

Clark's Team (Current Race: 401 / 2nd, Overall: 2790 / 5th)

Just a solid week with good returns. Perez (13) doing honest work despite driving for Cadillac and Red Bull Lawson (25) has done well over the past 2 races.

Brendan's B-Team is the A-Team (Current Race: 394 / 3rd, Overall: 2865 / 4th)

While Clark went for Red Bull Lawson, Brendan had other ideas and went for Tsunoda (17) covering for Racing Bulls Lawson. And the decision paid off! Brendan is also holding onto Colapinto (14) as a very stable source of points every race.

Josh's Just in time for WW3 (Current Race: 391 / 4th, Overall: 3083 / 2nd)

The consistency of Josh’s team is unmatched. It was a dream result after qualifying with Gasly’s poll, but all big 4 constructors overtook him during the race to end with P7 and 14 points.

Josh has successfully trimmed down my lead to 6 points and is now one bad transfer away from P1.

Tim's Trolley Cart Racing (Current Race: 390 / 5th, Overall: 2530 / Last)

Tim is so back, only to immediately curse Ferrari (24) after transferring out Racing Bulls (33). Other than that, it was a very competitive race from Tim’s team keeping level with all the good scores of the round.

Keven's Cope and Delusion (Current Race: 320 / 6th, Overall: 3089 / 1st)

So glad I had the additional budget to afford Leclerc (-12, DNF), and how silly I was to go double Aston Martin (-22, double DNF). The window is now wide open for Josh or Jason to overtake me next race.

Vinny's Jacqui's Favourite Pole (Current Race: 254 / Last, Overall: 2536 / 6th)

As it turns out not everyone had Antonelli. Vinny went fancy by transferring out Antonelli (93 x 2 = 186) for Russell (33 x 2 = 66) and that tanked his score.

What Vinny must have forgotten is that F1 Fantasy scoring is very flawed, because Antonelli starting the race at P19 would earn him more F1 Fantasy points overtaking during the race than starting P1 and finishing P1.

The primary example is Verstappen earlier this year at the Australian GP, being the top scoring driver with 55 points for starting P20 and finishing P6, while Russell only got 39 points for starting P1 and finishing P1.

Bless up,

Keven
