FPL GW 8: Midfield Mayhem
Derek’s Lacroix-ing out loud (GW 44 / 3rd, Total 547 / 1st)
Sandra's time at the top was short lived as Derek immediately takes it back after one week. Budget Arsenal defender Konsa (14) was elite. How silly were we to think Calafiori (1) would be nailed.
Recent recruit Cherki followed up a DNP with an actual on field 0. Super sub Gomez (2) comes in for the fourth time in a row, this time for Joao Pedro. It finally wasn't to be as Gomez blanked in Brighton's loss to Liverpool.
Sandra’s SZ (GW 38 / 5th, Total 543 / 2nd)
The Brighton dream run takes a breather with Gross (0) scoring an own goal and life returns to normal when Haaland is the top scoring player in FPL. Non-Haaland City players are difficult to manage when Sandra finally decided to field Gvardiol (1) just to get Maresca'd alongside Cherki.
It was quite an experience for triple Chelsea attack to combine for 0 points thanks to a Palmer red card. We thought we were targeting Spurs, but it was Spurs targeting us into overtaking Man United on the ladder these past few gameweeks.
Dan’s New team 9 (GW 40 / 4th, Total 516 / 3rd)
Mbeumo (2) has an off week during Man United woes while Barnes (8) is the only differential player that went well.
Duy’s Duzor (GW 46 / 2nd, Total 506 / 4th)
Man United has gotten to a point where they're not even selecting Bruno (DNP) to play.
What a week for midfield options: Bruno DNP, Palmer red card, Saka injury, Cherki 0 pointer, Mbeumo 2 pointer, Rogers 1 pointer and a Gross own goal.
In such a world Duy had to rely on Belloumi (4) who is now the 4th best midfielder in FPL.
Keven’s defconsistent (GW 27 / 6th, Total 461 / 5th)
It truly is difficult without Haaland because it's so hard to captain the right player, missing again this week with Rogers (1 x 2 = 2).
Brian’s BurnBabyBurn (GW 53 / 1st, Total 451 / 6th)
Top score of the week and boy does it feel great to get rid of the deadweight from your team. Ødegaard (3) to Tavernier (10) and Wissa (1) to Barry (2) were both net positive transfers.
Bless up,
Keven
