FPL GW 37: Ander-son of a gun
Sandra’s SZ (GW 73 / 1st, Total 2,163 / 2nd)
Sandra takes second place with Anderson’s second double digit haul in a row, 12 last week, and 12 again this week. Anderson is now the 5th highest scoring mid in the game and somehow only Sandra and Duy had the foresight to own him for a significant period of time.
New recruit Saliba (8) returned, but it came at the cost of transferring out Virgil (14). Good supporter knowledge when it comes knowing Liverpool would concede, but no one could have predicted not one, but TWO goals by Virgil.
Duy’s Duzor (GW 73 / 2nd, Total 2,067 / Last)
Another Virgil (14) non-believer, but it was more shocking to see Duy also bench Anderson (12). Anderson was having none of it as Joao Pedro didn’t show up to let Anderon be the hero sub, but being Duy’s mascot isn’t a Shaw (6) thing when Shaw is now conjuring up goals.
Feeling disappointed about Watkins not being a differential during everyone Free Hitting in GW 34… well, I think Duy came ahead with Watkin’s 16 points in GW 33 and 15 points in GW 37.
Keven’s The Assets (GW 67 / 3rd, Total 2,157 / 3rd)
No longer second and equalising Sandra’s score every gameweek, I sure am feeling like a fool for investing in Casemiro (1). He’s the 7th highest scoring mid, what can go wrong? Incorrect timing, apparently.
At least Saka (10) has been good, but how is he getting defensive contribution points against Burnley of all sides. Congratulations to Arsenal for winning the Premier League after Pep said nah to one final hurrah for the last gameweek of the season.
I’m looking forward to seeing my triple Arsenal of Raya, Gabriel and Saka being rotated out of the Premier League into the Champion’s League final.
Derek’s Cole Fired Power (GW 50 / 5th, Total 2,261 / 1st)
Derek’s had a really bad run of luck these past few gameweeks post bench boost, and it was ruined by a 90 minute DCL goal wiping out the Brighton double defence clean sheet.
Getting fancy with Wirtz (1) has not been good but Bruno G. (4) was alright. Bruno G. is a good ball knowledge pick up because Newcastle has had a 20% higher win rate when he is in the side (12 wins, 6 draws, 10 losses compared to 2 wins, 1 draw and 6 losses).
Dan’s A-Cunha Matata (GW 60 / 4th, Total 2,083 / 4th)

I may no longer have the same points as Sandra, but the story lives on through Dan and Brian. Maybe the real battle we care about is fourth. Even Duy is a chance, being only 14 points behind.
Dan is an enjoyer of the double Arsenal defence in Raya (6) and Saliba (8), something I also quite enjoy. He does however also have triple Brighton in Van Hecke (2), Groß (3) and Welbeck (2), something I’ve actively been avoiding.
Much respect to the Welbeck pick. He certainly is a rollercoaster like Joao Pedro (DNP), Watkins (15) and Rogers (12), where you can never predict their points based on fixtures. The last two teams Welbeck scored goals against were Chelsea and Liverpool.
Brian’s The Liabilities (GW 40 / Last, Total 2,083 / 5th)
Brian’s a bit of an all or nothing kind of guy. In his last 11 gameweeks, he has gotten 2nd, 1st, 2nd, Last, 1st, Last, 5th, 1st, 5th, 5th and 5th. Only top 2 or bottom 2, never middle 2.
Transferring out Watkins (15) for Gyokeres (1) was quite painful, doubly so when Brian captained him for 2 points. So Sandra, it could be worse.
Getting Roefs (3) when he was the top scoring goalkeeper earlier this season was quite a move, and he’s still sitting in fourth. Raya has definitely been a tier above the other goalkeepers, though it might be surprising to know that Kelleher is second.
Verbruggen is eighth now, with 14 points in the first 9 gameweeks and 27 points in the last 6 gameweeks. What an enjoyable start to the season that was. I’d like to imagine that it was also the reason Dan refused to pick him up on his recent wildcard.
Bless up,
Keven
